Come away with me

Artist Statement
“Come away with me” is inspired by my experiences with the Australian landscape and the emotional connections we form with place.
Each painting is a reflection of how landscapes hold stories - personal, collective, and imagined - and how we carry those stories within ourselves.
As a migrant, my work reflects my search for a place to belong, and explores the space between presence and absence. The process of painting is a way of navigating transitions: moments of loss and longing, but also discovery and connection. Through layers of texture and colour, I capture both the fleeting and the enduring - the haze of a remembered day, the stillness of a horizon, the pull of places that feel like home.
Warrandyte and its surroundings are rich in history, community, and natural beauty. In presenting this body of work at the NaNY Gallery, I invite viewers to reflect on their own connections to land and memory—an invitation to “come away” and join me in a shared journey.
