‘My work explores themes of memory, distance and connection through the language of landscape.’
Hello and welcome.
I'm Lara Tees, a Melbourne based artist, and I create expressive landscapes featuring expansive skies and distant horizons.
My work has been described as atmospheric, emotional and evocative, and my paintings have been featured in exhibitions and galleries across Australia. I have also been a finalist in several art prizes.
I love the Australian landscape and I take much of my inspiration from the colours and textures of this amazing country I'm fortunate to call home.
My work captures the experience of being in a place and the feelings that it evokes. I hope my work transports you to those places, so I can share them with you.

Williamstown Town Hall
I’m so excited to be returning to the Inner West Art Fair! Last year was such a fun weekend. I met so many awesome people and had great conversations about art. I can’t wait to do it all again from 16-18 October at the Williamstown Town Hall.
I’ll be bringing a range of new art, including a selection of my mini landscapes, which are always a big hit, and some mid-size and larger statement pieces that I can’t wait to share.
This is such a special event featuring a curated selection of incredible artists. There’s also live music, a wine bar, coffee, workshops, and a pop up art supply shop!
Tickets are on sale now - head to the Inner West Art Fair for all the links and details.
I hope to see you there.
Expansive Connections
2-29 October 2026
This October, nine artist friends are coming together for Expansive Connections, a group exhibition at Oakhill Gallery in Mornington.
We come from different parts of Melbourne, work in different styles and mediums, and are all at different points in our creative journeys. But we share a love of making art, looking at art, talking about art, and supporting one another along the way.
The exhibition celebrates the friendships, conversations, encouragement and inspiration that have grown through our shared creative lives. With nine artists, you will experience a mix of styles, ideas, and materials, each reflecting our own individual way of seeing and creating.
I feel very fortunate to be exhibiting alongside this wonderful group of artist friends and would love you to come and enjoy what we’ve created.
Oakhill Gallery, 100 Mornington-Tyabb Road, Mornington
